Arignar Anna Government Arts College has been functioning as coeducation College in Musiri and is now affiliated to the Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. The Then Chief Minister Mr. M. Karunanidhi, Government of Tamil Nadu, laid foundation on 30-08-1969 for the establishment of this College (affiliated to University of Madras) in Musiri for the development and uplift of the downtrodden people who suffer by the poverty, illiteracy and ignorance etc. Since 1969, the college has been functioning for the welfare of Scheduled Caste/Tribe, Backward Caste and other people in and around Musiri. The College has a spectacular rise and developed into a premier institution of Higher education. It is committed to empower the students to think independently, to understand the complexities and challenges of today’s life and transform them into opportunities to set benchmarks for others and finally to exemplify the change they seek to bring in the world and like torchbearers, lead it towards a brighter future.
